Helping the houseless - one Hygiene kit at a time
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, unhoused folxs have been greatly impacted leaving them in desperate need for supplies and essential resources. With thousands of people unemployed and on the verge of homelessness, our work is the least we could do. Our kits consisted of toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, socks and underwear just to name a few; while our snack bags consisted of nutritious fruits like apples, oranges, and bananas.
We were able to raise over $4000 and packed about 500 hygiene kits and snack bags and only our first event! We served so many amazing folxs in Compton and I met the cutest lil family. I met this mother named Jennifer and her 3 boys, she immediately started crying and hugging me saying that I was God’s princess and angel. right before i was about to leave she came back out with a bouquet of flowers 😭 I refused them, but she insisted saying that God told her that she should buy these flowers today for someone and now she knows who it was for. i’m not religious, but i do believe in divine timing and that i was meant to meet her, it reminded me why i love doing this work 💜 everyone deserves housing and access to healthy food so organizing this event has seriously reignited my passion for service so thank you to @mika_keora and @jorbaby_ for bringing me onto this ily 💞 and even tho we made sure to give kits to every single unhoused person we saw plus leaving some for the people in rv’s we still had extra!! this weekend we donated supplies and food to @fosterthemillions, @lbcpusa, and dropped some off at @leimertparkfridge 🥰 can’t wait for what’s next!!!
