Our work is growing. More neighbors are coming to our events, asking for support, and joining our network of care. But our core organizing team is still small—just 4-6 people handling everything from logistics to outreach to mutual aid distribution. To meet this growing need and sustain our community projects, we need to grow our capacity. We need you.
This is more than volunteering. This is membership.
We’re looking for people who share our commitments and are ready to join our team. No prior organizing experience is necessary. We value alignment, willingness to learn, and consistency.

what do members do?
As a member, you become part of our decision-making community. This isn’t a passive role—it’s an engaged one.
Monthly Commitments:
Attend one All-Member Meeting a month.
Participate at our Monthly Free Store.
Take On a Role:
Members choose roles based on their skills and capacity. You can try one out, switch, or share responsibilities. Examples include:

We operate on trust, communication, and collective care. If your capacity changes, you communicate it. We redistribute tasks. We prevent burnout together.
How to become a member
1. Submit Your Interest
Fill out our brief membership interest form. It’s not a test—it’s a conversation starter.
2. Volunteer 3 Times
Get a feel for the work by joining us at a Free Store, sorting day, or delivery shift. Side-by-side is the best way to see if we’re a good fit for each other.
3. Connect with the Steering Committee
Have a casual, low-pressure chat with a couple of current members. We’ll answer your questions and hear about what you’d like to contribute.
4. Welcome to the Team
Once you’re in, you’ll be added to our member communications and can step into a role that matches your capacity and skills.
